SALSA NEWS 2021

 Hi Everyone .. I am currently not in Los Angeles .. but I am getting news about places & events that have reopened for dancing. I will go ahead & post them for your convenience.

However, I will advise you that if you have not gotten your vaccination that you not attend these events. The new variant Delta is considered much more dangerous to those unvaccinated & to those with children.

Look under EVENTS. Enjoy & take precautions while out dancing.

COVID 19 PANDEMIC

Hi Everyone...

Unfortunately classes are not available in the colleges at this time. There are some doing online classes if you are interested, I will post a link later on.

There has been word about some underground activity happening throughout the community providing places for dancing. These locations I would definitely NOT recommend going to them as they are NOT safe .. social distancing does not work in these locations. Also some people will wear masks and some will not.

An event occurred in Arizona where everyone who attended now has the virus .. noone escaped getting it even when wearing masks.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL, BE HEALTHY AND STAY SAFE!!

LACC SALSA CLASSES - CHANGES- updated 4-18-2020

Former students of LACC .. the class you normally took before Salsa 1.5 has been renamed to INTRO TO LATIN DANCES which will include the Merengue, Bachata & Salsa and has also moved to Sundays 2pm-3:30pm.

A new class for Salsa will take place before Salsa 1.5. It will be strictly Salsa & allow us to teach you more basics & a better foundation before going to Salsa 1.5. 

If you've taken the beginner class before, then I recommend or suggest you take this class before going into Salsa 1.5. We will have 2 extra weeks to cover more material.

NOTICE: ALL DANCE CLASSES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED. THE SCHOOL HAS DECIDED THAT SINCE IT IS PARTNER DANCING IT WAS BEST NOT TO PROVIDE ANY CLASSES ON THEIR ONLINE FORUM.  MY APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. I HOPE THAT EVERYONE IS DOING THEIR BEST TO STAY HEALTHY & SAFE!! HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE SOON!!

LACC Salsa Int .. now Salsa 1.5 - updated 2-20-20

We have reformatted the Intermediate Salsa class to Salsa 1.5.

This class will now be easier for the Beginning student to move to the Beginning of the next level (Intermediate) in their dance. However, you must know your BASICS - forward & back basic, side basic, cross forward & cross behind basic, right turn & crossbody lead & follow)

Cross body lead patterns, turns/spins, solo shines/musicality will be introduced to improve lead & follow techniques.

If you took our Beginner class, then please sign up for this class .. we need at least 9 people enrolled to make this class a go!!

NOTE: Classes will start April 18, 2020 for 5 weeks. Sign up soon!

SOCIALS: Are held at dance studios, usually no liquor as liquor is not allowed on the premises, but water is provided, however you can bring your own water & it is open to any age & any level dancer.
CLUBS: Usually must be 21 & over...exceptions are The Granada in Alhambra as long w/adult & Stevens Steakhouse in East LA.
EVENTS/CONGRESS: Usually held each year and are for a few days or scheduled for a month or two depending on the event. Some are held outside during the summer months & others are bigger where a lot of space is required with various rooms for teaching workshops and dancing later are usually held at convention centers or hotels.
